The weather looked pretty good today and I needed to get out of the house and stretch my legs, so we chose to try the anti-clockwise walk from the lighthouse car park at Dungeness – less scenery but lots more ramshackle and quirky buildings seemingly just plonked in the middle of the desert.

We started off down the boardwalk, along the beach and then just meandered through the old boats and shacks.

I've seen other pictures of this poor old boat in slightly more complete condition - time is taking its toll!

It’s not all old rickety wrecks, the weird old buildings are slowly being bought-up, done-up and are now populated by Audi and Porsche owning types as they are turned into trendy little weekend pads – pretty cool really.
