Whilst in Cornwall this summer I was lucky enough to witness a pretty fantastic thunder storm, the lightning was going all around, once or twice a minute – it was hard NOT to catch a fantastic shot

I set my tripod up on a caravan porch facing out across the bay and used my trusty old brolly to shelter me from the elements

It was a touch hairy at times, it did occur to me that standing in a wet field with an umbrella would make a pretty good conductor for a lightning strike

The angry sky was lit up by lightning and you can see the rain pouring out over the headland
