robin

Now that winter seems to have forced the weather into a state of near constant gloom, I appear to be stuck at home finishing off as much work as possible before Christmas arrives. So rather than just stare at them through the window, I figured I should capture some of the garden birds that visit in the winter months. Some call that procrastination, I probably agree!

At the moment I only seem to be able to see blue tits, coal tits, robins and of course sparrows of which there are many. Even the collared doves and wood pigeons seemed to have scarpered for the time being but I’m sure they’ll be back at some point.

Bird photography isn’t really something that I consider myself interested in but it’s certainly a challenge and an exercise in patience, not to mention resilience to the cold, at this time of year.

It turns out that I’ve quite enjoyed taking the time to grab these few images and look forward to Spring when a little more varied colour might come to play in the back garden (and it might not be so cold).
